Showcasing creative works by emerging artists and designers from the best of QUT's 2011 graduates of Creative Industries and Built Environment and Engineering faculties, I'm Yours/Be Mine seeks critical connections between concept and form across diverse disciplines, uncovering future trends through the next generation of practitioners.
I'm Yours/Be Mine is a passive-aggressive consideration of the nature of desire as it exists in feminine, neutral and masculine contexts. Each work displayed is a proposition opening up discussion on the notion of longing, questioning what fuels human desire: be it towards relationships, objects, materials, food or lifestyles. The exhibited works propose contrasting desires and positions; fetishes towards the futuristic and fantastic, a longing for regression to the retro, and traditional, highly-personal retrospection or distanced craving for plastic, glass and steel.
The exhibition showcases work from Visual Arts, Fashion, Animation, Interactive and Visual Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design.
