The Billboard

About The Billboard

Since its inception in 2004, the Billboard has hosted memorable works by some of Australia's most recognisable names, including: Judy Watson, Chris Howlett, Penelope Cain, Mimi Tong, Jemima Wyman, Mike Stubbs, Tracey Moffat and Joanne Currie Nalingu.

Australia's largest public art canvas, the Billboard measures 45m x 9m and fronts the busy arterial Kelvin Grove Road, seen by an estimated 50 000 commuters each day.

The Billboard has exhibited over twenty super-sized artworks specifically designed for the space. Each work is exhibited for an average of three to four months. Works are printed in-house using adhesive-backed vinyl and UV-safe inks, and the completed image takes a team of abseilers up to three days to hang.

There are currently no active Billboard commissions. Find out more about our past Billboards.
