Student Engagement Program

QUT Precincts has the responsibility of managing QUT’s exhibition, performance and event spaces, and to present a diverse range of free and ticketed activities to attract visitors, clients, sponsors and benefactors to QUT’s Creative Industries Precinct and Gardens Cultural Precinct.

This is achieved through:

  1. Programming and presenting professional exhibition and performance seasons (including a subscription season for Gardens Theatre)
  2. Developing and managing free public programs related to major exhibitions and activities
  3. Producing on behalf of Creative Industries Faculty exhibitions, performances and events showcasing the work of graduating students
  4. Event management and venue hire on commercial basis

Opportunities are made available to QUT students to engage with precinct activity through internships and ‘fieldwork’ placement, as well as paid employment in front-of-house areas (usher, exhibitions attendant, box office attendant).

Internships in the areas of public programs, curatorial assistance, marketing, events and public relations, and graphic design are available to QUT students undertaking a degree program in an appropriate field.
