Mastering Photogrammetry with Trendt Boe
Trendt is a QUT researcher, embedded at Logemas, who is currently investigating the methods for building human photogrammetry systems. Originally from an enterprise background of data visualisation and financial reporting, Trendt completed his undergraduate Animation degree in 2015, then followed that with a 12 month research project focused on building a human head photogrammetry system using 21 decommissioned DSLRs and a number of DIY solutions. He has also touched on a few other areas of scanning including environments, props, as well as materials using different techniques – learning a lot of do's and don'ts along the way.
His presentation will cover an overview of different aspects of photogrammetry, key pointers for getting started, lessons learnt, and a brief overview of the workflow; from capture through to having an asset ready for use (in this case, in Unreal Engine 4). Included in his presentation are a number of resources and links to other artists that can be accessed around the web to help with immersing yourself in the world of photogrammetry.
